Yandy from Love and Hip Hop New York got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Mendecees Harris, and decided to broadcast it live on VH1 on memorial day.
Nina and Stevie J were hosting the behind the scenes coverage, while Big Tigger was hosting in the cocktail room where all the guest were. All celebrities were there including Rasheeda, Kirk, Joseline, Peter Gunz, Tara, Lil Scrappy, Bambi, Mama Dee, Yung Joc, Rich Dollaz, Moniece, Karlie Redd, K. Michelle and many more. Kimbella was Yandy’s maid of honor, and Juelz Santana was Mendecees best man, along with his oldest son Lil Mendecees.
Here’s what I find a little extra about it all; some things should be left in the dark. Pictures are fine and what not but broadcasting the whole thing seems flashy. I mean they aren’t Jay-Z & Beyonce or John Legend & Chrissy Teigan, NOT saying they ain’t shit or discrediting the couple but why broadcast it? They did get in the whole theme of it and did a poll “Which dress should Yandy wear?” Like buying TWO wedding dresses to have the audience choose one, it’s overdoing it. HATING, not at all.I like Yandy but I think she is falling into of those typical reality TV stars.
At first when she came on to Love and Hip Hop New York. She was strictly about her business, managing Jim Jones and was really committed to working for him, then after she stopped working for him, it seemed like they stopped showing what other business she took care off. Then there came Love and the Hip Hop portion was cut off. I enjoyed seeing her handle her business and actually being someone other than a reality star. She is a talent agent under Mona Scott’s company,so she actually makes money but I want to show more of what she does and be a positive look for the Love & Hip Hop New York show.
So I know I’m a little bit late but let’s talk about the Billboard Awards 2015!
Rapper Ludacris and model Chrissy Teigan did an awesome job with hosting and being themselves.
The fashion was something to look at especially Chrissy Teigan, rocking three different outfits; a Balmain black and gold stripe jump suit she wore on the red carpet, a red tube top jump suit she wore while hosting the awards with rapper/actor Ludacris, along with with a white low cut dress and a white sweater low cut dress. Mariah Carey rocked a black To Ford dress, Jennifer Lopez wore a gorgeous Charbel Zoe couture silver and brown see through dress. And that Taylor Swift got sexy on us and wore a Balmain white jump suit that was cut out under the boobs. Balmain was clearly a hot commodity because Kendall Jenner wore the brand as well as her younger sistr Kylie Jenner. Andddd lastly that Iggy Azalea wore a powder blue and nude color crop top and skirt that I wasn’t a fan of, especially with her pink tipped ends on her hair but to each is own.

Moving along, there were some intense categories with some great nominees in them and some were just obvious on who should win.
Taylor Swift won EIGHT awards, she better get it. She won: top artist, Billboard Chart Achievement Award, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard Artist 200, Top Billboard 200 Album for her 1989 album, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Song Artist, and Top Streaming Video for “Shake It Off”. She also premiered her action filled music video ‘Bad Blood.”
Sam Smith took home the top male artist award, top new artist and top radio song artist award. Iggy Azalea took home the top rap song for “Fancy” (bi**h wheet), Top Streaming Artist, and Top Rap Artist (what in a Sam Hell). So clearly I have an issue with that, Honestly I think Nicki Minaj should have won for Ananconda. She is an actually rap artist, not because she is a black woman but because lyrically she spits the real.Yes Iggy is a rapper I guess but she doesn’t speak the real, it’s all mumbo jumbo, TO ME PERSONALLY. I think she won because majority rules, more white people support Iggy than Nicki and of course majority of them are in charge of the awards. As far as top rap artist, J. Cole or Drake should have won, J.Cole lyrically speaks greatness, Drake lyrically speaks his words with emotion which catches fans attention but again majority rules and I think that the Billboard Awards wanted a white artist to win. Last year Eminem won Top Rap Artist in 2014 In a category with Drake and the GREAT Jay-Z. No shade towards Eminem at all because he is a good artist. He also won top Top Rap Album for The Marshall Mathers, and Macklemore &Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton won top Rap song in 2014 for “Can’t Hold Us. No shade to these artists but I think it’s a visual game. Maybe these artists won based off numbers and rating but to me it seems a little off.

Moving along, the magical John Legend won three awards, which was well-deserved. Another great recognition was J.Cole winning Top Rap Album.
Performance wise, Chris Brown performed a pop-ish song in a red Michael Jackson type suit, with Pitbull in a new song titled Fun. Wiz Khalifa hit the stage with Charlie Puth and Lindsey Stirling in the heart-felt song “See You Again” dedicated to actor Paul Walker, who died in a car crash in November 2013. Britney Spears made a come back song with Iggy Izalea in a song called Pretty Girls. Nick Jonas performed one of my favorites “jealous” Kanye West performed “All Day” with a lot of fire, literally. His sister in laws Kendall & Kylie Jenner were booed when presenting his performance…was the crowd hating or in the right?? Hmmm, and of course the Empire crew Jussie Smollett & Bryshere Gray had to make an appearance, performing “You’re So Beautiful” and “Conquerer” with Estelle. There were many more performances but I just had to speak on those.

Bruce Jenner recently did a two hour interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer, talking about his life battling image issues and wanting to become female. Just a little preview on Bruce Jenner, he is a winner of the summer Olympics back in 1976. He married Kris, former Kardashian, in 1991. She is the ex husband of Robert Kardashian, who was the lawyer of O.J Simpson in 1978. Just a little history lesson. ANY WHO Bruce opens up saying he hasn’t felt comfortable in his own skin for years, he even started taking hormone pills in the 80’s; mind you, he had already been married once, had two children from his first marriage, and had two more children from his marriage at the time, until him and his second wife had separated sometime in the 80’s. He didn’t want to transition into a woman at the time because he didn’t want to let his children down. So while being uncomfortable as a man, he went on with his life that would be acceptable to society, and married Kris, and having two more children with her. At some point in time, he got tired of living a life and had to be honest with himself, along with his close love ones.
In this year 2015 being a lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, or transgender is common. Of course some people don’t accept those individuals and even bully and commit hate crimes against them all because it isn’t “socially acceptable” or the “American Way”. Some gays, bi-sexuals, lesbians, and transgenders even hate themselves for being the way they are so much, that they commit suicide. Some people in that community take a while, maybe even years to open up to their parents about their lifestyles. Bruce Jenner is one of them.
Bruce Jenner is being called a hero because he opened up about wanting to become a transgender person. He showed that it is okay to want to be transgender, and even at an age of 65, you can that. Some men and females are struggling with themselves and wanting to become the opposite sex an some wanting to kill themselves for wanting that. Bruce Jenner IS a hero for showing that, even a well known celebrity like himself has had identity issues and it’s okay to want to change your gender because he is going to do it. You can check out the interview below. Feel free to comment your thought and opinions 🙂
K. Michelle recently released her second album entitled “Anybody Want To Buy A Heart.” On the album she shares a lot and bares it all…physically. In her interview with Power 105.1 with the Breakfast Club, she says that some people were mad about her album cover because she was naked, but in her defense, she says she was removing all negativity from her, including what people think of her, baring it all and showing beauty and art.
She’s said in a few interviews that her album is about her previous break up with British actor Idris Elba. You may know him from Tyler Perry’s film “Daddy’s Little Girls”, “Taken”, and most recently “No Good Deed.” When asked about the break up with Elba, she said
“He had the baby and it was just, kind of like I’m not going to be in the middle of this, so I walked away from it——-It’s another woman involved. What kind of woman am I to say ‘leave your family–to come be with me’. I think as a woman I did the right thing.“— K. Michelle, interview with The Breakfast Club Power 105.1
To set the record straight, she also added that he was not married when they got together.
On her album, K. Michelle expresses herself in different styles of singing and sounds that go with her personality. Her first song “Judge Me” has a recognizable up beat to it; then she moves along to song number 2 with her hit single “Love Em All.” She had sampled the group Total’s hit song “Kissing You” in her song titled “Hard to Do.” She goes from hitting long notes, to yodeling, to singing with soul on this album. I think this album is a must hear. It took me two times to hear it, to really get the vibe from it and actually understand where she was coming from. Overall rating of this album:
The “Anaconda” single star Nicki Minaj dropped her third studio album “The Pinkprint” on December 12. She starts off the album with the song “All Things Go” that has heavy bass, nice melody kick to it. She opens up about past relationships with an ex boyfriend, her mother and the death of a little cousin. I think the title means that all things come and go, like her opening up about her abortion when she was younger. This song was the best choice of hers to start the album. She then slows it down in the titled song “I lied” in which she says she lied to her guy so he wouldn’t break her heart. So she had a wall up around her heart so she wouldn’t get hurt. We’ve all been there, I know I have. Ms. Nicki switches it on up on “The Crying Game” and adds Jessie Ware, London singer whose big hit was “Wildest Moments”. She also features Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Drake, Wayne, Chris Brown, Meek Mills, Skylar Grey, and LunchMoney Lewis on her album; as well as Jermih in my favorite song titled “Favorite”.
Thinking back to when Nicki first came out, she has changed musically and physical as far as her appearance goes. She went from bright crazy color hair to nice, toned down Nicki. I’ve always liked her songs but wasn’t a big fan of her image. She definitely made a signature look with her pink Chinese bang hair-doo , her long blonde hair, and of course the big booty; but her look could never be imitated or replicated. It’s like she’s blossomed into a new lady and I like it.
