Chris Brown Concert Lit!
Soo I went to see Chris Brown Sunday July 29 (I know I’m late making this post).
Of course he was GREAT! He started out singing “Heartbreak on a Full Moon”, then went into performing “Juicy Booty”, “Questions”, “High End”, “Yellow Tape” and my FAVORITE song on the album “Hope You Do” which is a melody sample from Donnell Jones “Where I Wanna Be” . I could’ve left the concert after he performed that because I was THAT impressed at that point! BTW if you haven’t already, make sure you check out the review I did on Heartbreak on a Full Moon Album
After he performed his songs off the Heartbreak on a Full Moon album, he took us back to 06 and sang “Yooo”, his second single off the first album, then “Poppin”. To put the icy on the cake, he performed “Take You Down”, which we all know is the SHIT! Mind you, while he was performing all these songs, he dancing…his ass off. Not only can this man, sing, rap, dance, but he can act and produce. Call him what you want but don’t forget to mention that this man is talented.
Sidebar: I missed 6lack’s performance but I did catch H.E.R. and did good! She’s more of a mellow, chill performer. She didn’t dance much at all, but while she singed, she played her guitar. She performed my ALL TIME favorite sung by her, Best Part. Overall, I liked her performance.
Another sidebar: I went to see C Beezy for the first time in concert back in 06, with Neyo (hence, the feature photo). Crazy thing is, I completely forgot because I went to so many concerts when I was younger. But needless to say…I’ve been a fan!!
Have y’all seen Chris Brown in concert? If so, where at and how did you like it?

Scorpion Album Review
I know I’m late buuuuuuuuuuuuut I had to do a review on this Scorpion album.
Of course Pusha T spilled the tea about Drake having a son and Drake admitted it TWICE on the album with NO SHAME.
Drake has two sides of the album, which is equivalent to the days when cassette tapes were in. A side is him rapping and B side is him singing.

Honestly, it’s a pretty nice album but it no Nothing Was The Same album, but it’s close to the level of Views. He talks briefly about his son in Emotionless, which is one of the best songs on the album and the best song on the A Side, stating “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid.” What really made the song dope besides Drake’s bars was the Mariah Carey Emotions sample throughout the song.
It’s been said that Drake even took a slight jab back at Pusha T in his song 8 Out Of 10, stating he could go harder on him but he won’t and even though he exposed to the world that Drake had a son, he said “Kiss my son on the forehead and kiss your ass goodbye.” To me, he’s dismissing Pusha and Drake even threw in a skit by Plies in the end of song “I can’t argue with you—you mad—-I’m happy, leave me alone—I just want some money, a lot of money. You ain’t nobody.” Welp that’s self-explanatory.
B Side is Drake’s singing side, which I always like more. One of my favorite songs on this side is That’s How You Feel, which was a sample of Nicki rapping a freestyle at a show; and In My Feelings. This damn song has been soooo popular due to the dance that’s been going with it, The Shiggy. Celebs from Lala to Lil Duval have been doing it. Also, Drake talks about his son Adidon in the song March 14, showing that he isn’t ashamed to talk about it but he ain’t gon give us alll the tea. He did open up about how he resented his parents for not making it work but now he has to coparent with a woman, just like his parents did for him. He only seen his son once but he’s supposed to be seeing him soon and hopefully him and the child’s mother can put their differences aside and make it work. Now granted, if Drake’s son mother wasn’t a porn star, he probably would be slightly more open about how they met and what the relationship was like; or even if he was in a semi public relationship with her…but he wasn’t at all. Regardless, he makes good music an just like Chris Brown, he can’t do no wrong!
Again, I liked this album, it was better than More Life. Drake seem to never disappoint.

Teyana Taylor “K.T.S.E.” Album Review
Teyana FINALLY released her album and I’ve been slowly but surely getting into. For one, since it was released under the Kanye and he produced by him, I knew it would be a catch 🙄
First off, it didn’t follow the 7 song guidelines that Kanye was so stern on producing. There was 8 songs on the album which is still short, especially since the total album is only 23 minutes long.
Disclaimer: I don’t care for the short album trend. I miss the 12 track or more albums.
Teyana starts off the album with “Manners” which is just a repetitive song but mainly a minute and a half intro to start the album off.
The second song “ Gonna Love Me” is my FAVORITE song, which is about not taking certain things for granted. It gives me soulful Common vibes.
Hold on, HOLD ONNNN, DON’T LET ME GO. The third song “Issues/Hold On”, is my second favorite track on the album. She talks about working out a relationship and not giving us so easily. This could be a correlation to her marriage with Iman Shumpert.
“Hurry” is a freaky song, just talking about making a move and…fucking pretty much lol.
“Keep your eyes all on this fatty
If you like what you see take your hands and grab it“
Yup, that’s self explanatory lol.
“3 Way”, the fifth track on the album is about having a threesome, another self explanatory song and she even got Ty Dolla $ign on the album, which is always a plus.
“Rose In Harlem” is another one of my favorites. It has a sample from the 70’s group The Stylistics in the chorus and she talks about people who are close to you, that be faking and don’t get caught up with them. Since you aren’t sure who’s real or fake, you just gotta watch your back. Also, she references Tupac’s poem “The Rose That Grew From Concrete” with the Stylistics sample– “A Rose In Harlem (sample), Grew out the concrete (Tupac Reference). The song has a hip hop vibe to it.
“Never Would Have Made It” is a reference to Marvin Sapp’s gospel song “Never Would Have Made It.” In this song, she indirectly talks about her daughter.
Lastly, “WTP” which stands for “Work This Pussy” is another naughty song lol but also can be taken as a workout song.
Teyana has a variety of songs in this album from traditional R & B, to soulful R & B, to freaky dicky songs, to gospel influenced songs. I liked the album, but it could’ve been a tad bit longer as far as the length of the songs and the tracks on the album. I can jam to the whole album buuuuut it could’ve been a little better. Her first album was VII which had her single “Maybe” did pretty decent and was slightly longer than this album.
I like that Teyana is a woman with many talents such as singing, acting, model, businesswoman; plus she’s a wife, and a mom. You can’t do nothing BUT respect her.
What are your thoughts about the album? Yay or Nay??
